Project Structure
The freeware scenery project by BlueSkyScenery is a layered and modular system that ensures that you can download exactly the areas you want in exactly the resolution you need.
Project coverage are selected areas where high resolution public domain aerial imagery is available. Coverage is continually growing as my time permits.
Speeking of layers, there are two of them:

Normal resolution sceneries:
They cover larger areas with a resolution of 4.7m/pix.

They cover areas of special interest (airports, city-centers, etc) with a resolution of 1.2m/pix up to 0.3m/pix.
1.2m/pix scenery is 16 times larger than 4.7m/pix scenery. 0.3m/pix scenery is even 256 times larger.
Unfortunately most download-servers have a size-limit of 100MB per dowload. Therefore I can do only smaller areas in this resolution.
Because all filenames in the scenery- and
texture- folders are unique across all of my sceneries you can merge each layer into one scenery on your system. This prevents too
many entries in your scenery library.
